How to Clean Your Washing Machine

Monthly Cleaning

1. Run an empty hot cycle with 2 cups of white vinegar
2. Follow with another empty hot cycle with 1/2 cup baking soda
3. Wipe the door gasket (front-loaders) — pull it back and clean the fold
4. Leave the door open after every wash to prevent mold

Front-Loader Mold Prevention

Front-loaders are prone to mold in the door gasket. Always leave the door ajar, use HE detergent (less suds), and wipe the gasket dry after the last load of the day.
