Types for Home Use

  • ABC (multipurpose): Works on most home fires — wood, liquids, electrical. This is what you want.
  • Kitchen (K class): Specifically for cooking oil and grease fires.

Where to Place

Kitchen, garage, near the furnace, and each level of the home. Mount 3.5-5 feet off the floor.

The PASS Method

  1. Pull the pin
  2. Aim at the base of the fire
  3. Squeeze the handle
  4. Sweep side to side

Maintenance

Check the pressure gauge monthly — it should be in the green zone. Replace or recharge every 6-12 years.
