Critical Rules

  1. NEVER run a generator indoors or in a garage — carbon monoxide kills
  2. Place it at least 20 feet from the house with exhaust pointing away
  3. Use heavy-duty outdoor extension cords rated for the wattage
  4. Never connect a generator directly to house wiring — use a transfer switch

Maintenance

  • Run it monthly for 15-30 minutes under load
  • Change oil annually or every 100 hours
  • Store fuel with stabilizer
