LED Light Bulb Buying Guide

Why LED

LEDs use 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last 15-25 years. They pay for themselves in months.

Key Specs

  • Lumens = brightness (not watts). 800 lumens = old 60W bulb.
  • Color temperature = warmth. 2700K (warm/yellow) for living areas, 4000K (cool/white) for kitchens and bathrooms, 5000K (daylight) for garages and workshops.
  • Dimmable = check the box. Not all LEDs work with all dimmers.
