How to Touch Up Interior Paint

How to Touch Up Interior Paint

Preparation

  1. Keep leftover paint from every room (label the can with the room name)
  2. Stir the paint thoroughly — don't shake it
  3. Clean the damaged area with a damp cloth

Application

  • Use the same applicator type used originally (roller or brush)
  • Feather the edges — don't paint a hard line
  • Apply thin coats — thick coats show
  • Paint in the same direction as the original application

If the paint doesn't match, the original may have faded. You may need to repaint the entire wall for a seamless look.
