Barriers

  • 4-foot minimum fence around the pool on all sides
  • Self-closing, self-latching gate
  • No direct access from the house to the pool without going through a gate

Equipment

  • Pool alarm or motion sensor
  • Safety cover (not a solar cover — they don't prevent drowning)
  • Life ring and reaching pole nearby
  • Anti-entrapment drain covers (required by law)
