Setting Up Your Home
Why geocoding fails
We use the free US Census Bureau geocoder. It can miss:
- Newly built homes (under ~12 months old)
- Rural routes, PO boxes, or non-standard addresses
- Addresses with suite or unit numbers when the street itself doesn't match
- Typos — even a missing zip extension can do it
Fix: try address variants
- Open Home settings.
- Remove unit/apartment numbers — enter just the street address.
- Include the 5-digit ZIP code.
- Save. We re-run geocoding on any address change.
Fix: enter coordinates manually
If you know your latitude and longitude (Google Maps → right-click your house → copy coordinates), paste them in Home settings → Location. This also re-runs the climate and radon zone lookup.
Map still not showing?
The map image is cached for 30 days. If you just updated the address, give the page a hard refresh (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+R) so the new image loads.
