Completing vs. snoozing vs. dismissing
- Complete — you did the work. Records the date, attributes savings based on industry cost-of-neglect data for that task, and schedules the next recurrence.
- Snooze — pushes the due date forward. Good for "I'm doing this next weekend." Doesn't affect the health score.
- Dismiss — removes from the active list without completion. Use this for tasks that don't apply to your home.
Tracking what you spent
On the complete step you can optionally log the actual cost (parts + labor) and whether you did it yourself or hired someone. This feeds the Spending dashboard and your budget tracking.
How savings are calculated
Every maintenance template carries a cost-of-neglect estimate — what the same system typically costs to repair or replace when neglected. When you complete on time, that delta is credited to your savings log.
I completed a task but the score didn't change
The health score updates within a few minutes. Hard-refresh the page. If the task was marked "viewed" rather than "completed" — easy to do by accident — re-open it and click Complete.
