The attribution model

Each maintenance template carries an industry-sourced cost-of-neglect value — the typical cost to repair or replace the affected system if the task is skipped. When you complete on time, we credit that amount to your lifetime savings.

Example: changing your HVAC filter on time avoids premature blower-motor wear (~$400 typical replacement). Completing that quarterly task credits roughly that amount divided across the recurrence interval.

Spending vs. savings

The Spending dashboard tracks what you actually paid (parts + labor, DIY vs. hired). Savings tracks what you avoided paying. Both are separate — they don't net against each other.
